Rule Changes

Below is a list of the latest rule changes to come into effect for The New Football Pools.

  • 22 July 2009: Please note the following changes.
    • Classic Pools Rules - Effective from 8th August 2009 Classic Pools Rules are amended to include copyright protection, Section 6.10 is removed and Section 7 is amended to include the provision of a Bonus Prize. To view the new rules please Click Here.
    • Win An Extra £3Million Promotion - Effective from 8th August 2009 the Terms and Conditions of the Promotion are amended to restrict the no purchase necessary route and paragraph 11 is removed. To view the new rules please Click Here.
    • Premier 10 Rules - Effective from 15th August 2009 Premier 10 Rules are amended to include copyright protection. To view the new rules please Click Here.
  • 14th May 2009: Please note the following changes.
    • Classic Pools Rules - Amendments are made to the definitions of Competition Date, Datum Time and Pools Direct and further minor grammatical changes are made. To view the full rules please click here. The Rules Summary is updated in line with the full rules format.
    • Classic Pools Australian Football Season - For Match Lists dated 30th May 2009 through to the 1st August 2009, Australian football fixtures will be used. Please note that earlier Datum Times apply to these competitions.
    • Premier 10 Rules - The presentation of the Premier 10 game rules is changed to bring them in line with other pool games. To view the full rules please click here. The Rules Summary is updated in line with the full rules format.
  • 27th March 2009: Effective for the Spot the Ball competition closing 00:00 8th April 2009 section 3 of the Spot the Ball Rules are amended as below. Please read the full rules before playing.Click Here
    • Paying Prizes - £2,500 is paid to the player nearest to the exact position of the centre of the ball and an additional £2,500 will be paid if that player identifies the exact position of the centre of the ball. Prizes are shared if there is more than one winner. Prizes are as published on the results page. The name and regional location details of the main prize winners may be used for publicity purposes.
  • 17 December 2008: From 17th December 2008 revised Leaderboard Rules apply. Please note the following:
    • In the event that 2 or fewer games qualify for a particular monthly period for a leaderboard then The New Football Pools will determine the level of the leaderboard prizes to be awarded.
  • 13-August 2008: As from 16th August 2008 new rules for the combined Littlewoods and Vernons 8 from 49 Pool (Classic Pools) and the ''Win an Extra £3 Million Promotion'' come in to effect. Please see links below for full copies of these rules.
  • 05-August 2008: As from Competition 2, dated 9th/10th August 2008 and continuing until the end of the British season, results of all Classic Pools/Treble Chance Pools matches will be taken from Saturday and Sunday games.
  • 28-July 2008: Due to a print error on the Spot the Ball Bonus Game found on the reverse of the Main Spot the Ball entry form for Competition 3 dated 16th August 2008 the Bonus Game has been declared void and the prize fund will be rolled over to the following Bonus Game. Additionally, all entries recieved for the 16th August Bonus Game will be entered into a free prize draw to win an extra £5,000 - 250 customers will each recieve £20.   • 17-June 2008: Premier 10 Rule Change Summary for 2008/2009 Season
    • There are 2 prize levels, 1st (10 correct) and 2nd (9 correct) only
    • If there is no winner with the best possible result (usually 10 correct forecasts) the prize fund at this level will be rolled over to the next Premier 10 1st prize fund. If there is no winner at 9 correct forecasts the prize fund for this level will be added to the 10 correct prize fund.
    • If any dividend is less than £5, the prize at that level will not be paid and the prize fund for this level added to the remaining prize fund. If the prize for 10 correct is less than £5 and is not to be paid, the competition will be declared void.
    • In the event of a Void Match, said match will be considered as a winning forecast.
    • Competition Date means:
      1. The weekend date specified on the coupon (Saturday, Sunday and Monday).
      2. The midweek date specified on the coupon (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
