Loyalty and football rarely go hand in hand nowadays. One mistake can be the difference between a manager remaining in charge or losing his job regardless of all the good he had done prior to that. These billionaire owners fail to recognise improvement, only seeing missed opportunities (and ultimately missed money). That’s exactly what’s happened down at Eastlands with Sven’s likely exit come May 11th. I think Dr. Shinawatra should take a leaf out of Niall Quinn’s book.

The P.F.A. Team of the Year: A True Reflection of the Best of the Premier League?

The 2007/08 Premier League Team of the Year was announced this week with the side as per usual dominated by the top clubs in the land. However, there were some surprising omissions from the chosen line-up. After all, Chelsea could still win this season’s title yet not one of their squad was picked in the chosen eleven. So is the PFA selection what you consider a fair reflection of the best performers in the Premier League or is it a case of putting player’s reputations before consistent performance. As we all know Football is about opinions but are there any absentees you would have chosen in your best eleven? Let’s have a closer look at the merits of this line-up.

Newcastle v Chelsea: Blues in Title Slip up at St James’ as Toon Take a Point?

Chelsea’s charge towards both the Champions League and the Premier League title is in full effect as they’ve steamrollered the opposition in recent weeks. However, despite their winning run, Premier 10 players should be cautious as Avram Grant’s side will be facing a Newcastle side both in top form and with a superb recent home League record against the Blues.

Liverpool v Manchester City: European Heartbreak Comes Back to Give Sven a Headache

Liverpool’s season effectively ended last night after being knocked out of the Champions League, losing 4-3 to Chelsea on aggregate. So with the Reds playing solely for that proverbial pride, how much desire is there left in the tank?
