As Mourinho Prepares to Return to Management, Should Chelsea Let Lampard Go Now?
Rumours are once again flying left, right and centre about Frank Lampard’s future at Chelsea with Inter Milan claiming the player is set to join them after Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Manchester United on Wednesday.
Lampard’s agent though has denied the link saying, “I don’t know why Inter Milan would think this. Nobody has talked to me and I am good friends with the owner, Massimo Moratti. I took Paul Ince there, I took Patrick Vieira there - if there was something on, I am sure I would know.”
With this in mind, we can’t help but think that perhaps Inter Milan will shortly have a new manager in the shape of one Mr. Mourinho and this is why the rumours have come about.
But be it true or not, is this something Chelsea should consider? Lampard only has one year left on his contract at the London club and with Mourinho hinting that he’ll be returning to club management within a month, Lampard is as likely a candidate as anyone to join Jose’s ranks. At least if he goes this season, Chelsea would earn a nice, if not considerably overpriced, wedge for him. After all, we all know his trademark ‘kiss the badge’ stunt is more for show than passion for the club.
Truth or hearsay, such comments cannot be helping concentration for Chelsea’s Champions League match tomorrow and well worth considering when placing any bets on the big match.

Wherever Mourinho ends up, Lampard as well as several other Chelsea players, will follow like little puppy dogs! All this kiss the badge rubbish means nothing. Lampard is far from a committed Chelsea player - he is not ‘blue through and through’. He used Chelsea to get on the international platform and McClaren, like Eriksson, continued to fall for it. They saw the trophies coming into the Bridge and put two and two together and got 89!
And now Barry has put himself in the limelight, Lampard needs a new event to create new headlines to ensure his international future. So overrated and you’ll see just how much so tomorrow when Carrick has him in his pocket.

One of the most over-rated players there is! Sell, sell, sell. And do you notice that there aren’t any Chelsea fans coming on and supporting one of their supposedly ‘legends’. That sums it up perfectly
