Everton Set to Spend £20Million on Brazilian Hitman and Russian Playmaker
David Moyes is set to sign a new 5-year contract at Everton with the promise that funds are available to further strengthen the Toffees squad. The club have been heavily linked to Zenit St Petersburg playmaker and Russian Captain Andrei Arshavan in recent weeks and now a new name has been added to the list… João Alves de Assis Silva or Jo for short.
The 21-year-old Brazilian forward currently plies his trade in Russia with CSKA Moscow where he’s been a revelation. The striker has scored 30 goals in 52 matches for his club which has led to him being linked to both Arsenal and Manchester City in the past. His form in the Russian capital also led to a call-up for the Brazilian national side but he’s since reportedly fallen out with Dunga the Head Coach and vowed not to play for his country again until a new man takes charge.
The 6 ft 3 forward has been playing for CSKA since 2005 after moving from his first club Corinthians where he scored 13 goals in 81 games. He has since become hot property with AC Milan reported to have tracked his progress over the past 2 seasons. Jo has also won his fair share of silverware after picking up one title, 2 cups and 2 Super Cups whilst in Moscow. He is now set to finally get his lucrative big money move to Western Europe, well, at least he will if Moyes gets his way.
So would you be pleased with these 2 Russian-based signings to boost Everton’s chances of ousting one of the top 4 from the Champions League spots next season? Or would you prefer Moyes to invest the transfer funds on proven Premier League talent such as West Ham’s Dean Ashton? Whether these two join or not, it promises to be an interesting summer for the Toffees as they begin strengthening ahead of next season. Let’s hear your views.

Like any class player will ever join the Blues, they are a team of kickers with little to no class so how would a Brazilian fit in???? There is only one footballing side in Liverpool!

I am well chuffed that we are finally going to spend this summer on that bit of flair we have been missing. We pushed the lucky Reds all the way this season but with 2 or 3 added flair players on top of out superb defence we could really push on for Champions League!
That Jo looks a bit tasty in that vid and Arshavin was different gravy against Rangers!
Come to Goodison lads, the people’s club!

We have a board backing our manager with cash, which is more than that shower across the park. I’m thinking a few kopites are getting worried by our progress!!! Even Gerrard is pleading for cash to be spent. It’s nice to be linked but I guarantee that whoever we go for will be in the bag before the press get it. Talking of dream strikers Rafa, hows Crouch doing these days???

That RAFA talks as much rubbish as the real one.Must be something in the name.!!!!!
Liverpool fans just cannot accept we’re hot on their heels thats why they need to dismiss comments refering to the Blues being linked with quality players -as usual they are full of rubbish !!!!

Congratulations to Moyes for a fine season despite spending hardly anything, with some players like those mentioned I am sure we will crack the top 4 in the near future.
