Should Arsenal Build their Team Around Adebayor or Cash in Now?

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Despite quotes from Arsene Wenger and Emmanuel Adebayor stating that the Togolese striker’s future remains at the Emirates the press continues to link the player with a whole host of clubs including AC Milan and Barcelona. The 24-year-old has just enjoyed the most prolific season of his career, scoring a superb 24 goals in 36 League appearances (32 starts). He almost single-handedly ended any doubts about the sale of Thierry Henry and replaced the French superstar as the cult hero of the Gunners fans.

£12Million French Wonderkid on his Way to Arsenal or Will Real Madrid or Inter Get There First?

Friday, May 16th, 2008

The latest young wonderkid heavily linked to Arsenal is Marseille’s Samir Nasri. The French international is one of the hottest properties in Europe having been tagged the ‘new Zidane’. Despite recently signing a new contract at the Stade Velodrome the players’ manager Eric Gerets has been quoted as saying he’ll be leaving the club this summer if a big enough offer comes in. After Flamini’s free transfer to AC Milan and Hleb’s reportedly imminent departure to join him in Serie A the North London giants definitely need some fresh blood to increase the belief around the Emirates that they can compete with the likes of United and Chelsea.

Are Arsenal Facing a ‘Chaotic’ Summer After Hleb Announces he wants to Leave?

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

The Gunners could be facing a summer of upheaval as another top star looks set to depart for Italy. Alexander Hleb could be following his former midfield team-mate Mathieu Flamini out of the Premier League and into Serie A. His reasoning is explained by his agent Nikolai Shpilevski when he said, “Alex is tired of the noisy and chaotic life in London and feels like living in calmer surroundings.” Er, ok so London is too chaotic is it Alex? Surely you had a bit of an idea about the place before you signed? The Belarusian’s likeliest destination is reported to be Inter Milan but that could all depend of the amount of noise the people in the city make when he arrives for contract talks, perhaps Norwich would be nicer!

Is Arsene Wenger Incapable of Selecting Captain Material?

Monday, April 21st, 2008

That’s right I’m questioning Arsene Wenger’s ability. It may seem like a bit of a copout to do it now when the Arsenal onslaught is well and truly caput but I’m prepared to run that risk. Why? Because I’d be happy to stake a claim that the Gunners wouldn’t be where they are now had they had a Vieira or Adams-type captain spurring them on.

Arsenal, the team for the neutral viewer, are one of the most unique football team’s in Europe. Bursting with elegance, their fast-paced attacking style is a pleasure to watch. Chelsea v Arsenal: London Rivals Fail to Bridge the Gap with United?

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

The misfiring Gunners visit fortress Stamford Bridge this weekend as they look to end their recent 4-match drawing run. Chelsea Head Coach Avram Grant will be out to prove he has the tactical know-how to win the big games after failing in previous matches with the current top 2. Arsene Wenger needs to get his young guns winning again; however, the Blues are currently on a 77-match unbeaten League run at the Bridge, so the Frenchman may have his work cut out.
