Last night Manchester City’s £18m summer signing Jo finally got off the mark for his new club with a brace against Omonia Nicosia in Cyrpus. This ended a four-match drought for the Brazilian since moving to Eastlands. He’d featured in two Uefa Cup clashes against Danish outfit FC Midtyjlland and two Premier League games without scoring.

It’s been reported that Chelsea have upped their bid for Real Madrid’s Robinho to £28.4m as they look to add the young Brazilian to their already impressive looking squad. The on-going transfer of Robinho to Chelsea has not ended according to the club’s Chief Executive Peter Kenyon. He told the official website, “One of the key issues over buying Robinho has always been that Real Madrid are looking for a replacement.”

Juande Ramos is lining up a swoop for Fluminese’s Brazilian midfielder Thiago Neves Augusto this summer according to reports. The attacking midfielder can play centrally or on the left wing and should be available for around £9m.The 23-year-old has been linked to a number of clubs including AC Milan, Manchester United and Palermo after some excellent performances in his homeland and in the Copa Libertadores. The 5 ft 11 star is renowned for his excellent passing ability and long-range shooting and could fill Spurs troublesome left-midfield position.

Real Madrid’s Brazilian box of tricks Robinho has reportedly declared his desire to leave the club as Chelsea’s pursuit of the star begins to heat up. The Spanish champions have reportedly placed a £31.7m transfer fee on the head of Robson de Souza as contract negotiations have stalled at the Bernabeu and this week the player announced to the Spanish newspaper Marca, “I have the desire to leave Real Madrid.”
