North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham are set to go head to head in a battle to sign St.Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi in January. The 21-year-old is a consistent member of the French U21 side and may be available for a reported £8m fee.The Toulouse born star is one of the top-rated midfielders in France and can play in a defensive midfield position, which is an area both North London clubs need to reinforce. Matuidi is renowned as deep lying midfield playmaker but is also combative which would suit both these interested clubs and has over a 100 League appearances to his name in France.

Roy Keane is set to bring former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse on loan to Sunderland after his present club Marseille released a statement on their website. The Flamboyant Frenchman has been linked to a whole host of clubs this summer such as West Ham, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton, Man City and Roma but it’s the Black Cats who look set to win the race.

French international striker Djibril Cisse’s chances of getting his dream move back to the Premier League may well be growing as West Ham, Wigan, Sunderland, Blackburn, Bolton and Man City’s are reportedly showing an interest. It was reported that Roma were front runners for the Marseille striker but their interest has cooled following the arrival of Julio Baptista from Real Madrid.

French international striker Djibril Cisse’s chances of getting his dream move back to the Premier League seem to be diminishing despite West Ham and Man City’s reported interest in the player. The Marseille striker’s agent Rank Stojic has confirmed that Roma are about to launch a bid for the player after failing to secure a deal for Fiorentina’s Adrian Mutu.

Reports suggest both Man City and West Ham are launching bids to bring former Liverpool striker back to the Premier League from France. The 26-year-old is reportedly available for £8m from Marseille where he’s rediscovered his form following a disastrous 2-year spell on Merseyside.

North London giants Spurs and Arsenal will have both strengthened their squads by signing two of Europe’s top starlets this summer in the shape of Luka Modric and Samir Nasri. I’m going to be honest with you here, this tie is not easy to predict. It is not easy to predict at the best of times but even trickier when both teams still have a game to play before this one. I mean if France lose to Holland and Italy lose to Romania, the World Champs will be out but if both win their earlier game then it really is game on! The possibilities may be endless, well almost, but with thousands of pounds up for grabs, it’s still well worth a £1 punt!

Press reports claim Kevin Keegan has bid £10million for France’s new international striker Bafetimbi Gomis. The 22-year-old has just broken into the national team and was included in the Euro 2008 squad at the expense of more high profile stars Djibril Cisse and most surprisingly David Trezeguet. Few would have heard of him in England yet his scoring record and reputation as the ‘new Didier Drogba’ may lead to more attention in upcoming weeks.

According to press reports a number of the biggest clubs in the Premier League have begun sniffing around the jewel in France’s Euro 2008 bid…Franck Ribery. The 25-year-old has just enjoyed a superb first season in the Bundesliga as his side Bayern Munich romped to the title 10 points clear of runners-up Werder Bremen. The former Marseille star scored an impressive 11 goals in 28 League games in by far his most productive season of his career which had led to renewed interest from the Premier League.
