Alan Hansen on the Tottenham Revival Under Harry Redknapp

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Once more Harry Redknapp has shown what a great appointment he has been for Tottenham after picking up yet another win away at Man City at the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve been a bit fortunate along the way, after all, they were under the cosh against both Arsenal and Liverpool but managed to grab 4 points when they really should have had none. However, it’s important that they took advantage in those games as previously the team would have fallen apart in the same situation.

Tony Cascarino on Harry Redknapp’s ‘Scary’ Transformation of Tottenham

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

It has been scary to see just how much one man can change a club’s situation around so dramatically but that’s just what Harry Redknapp has done at Tottenham in a few short weeks. Harry seems to have an instant effect wherever he goes but if you’d told me a few weeks ago that Spurs would have drawn at Arsenal, beat Liverpool and then won at Man City then I would have laughed. The team was in a desperate state and it can’t just be that Harry goes around putting his arm around the players it must be more than that. After all, we may as well throw all these coaching badges and manuals away if that’s the case!

Adel Taarabt: Time for Tottenham Starlet to Finally Shine Under Harry?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Harry Redknapp has wasted no time bringing Tottenham’s forgotten stars back into the first team fold this week. Redknapp has given squad numbers to 5 players Spurs fans felt would have felt would never play for the club again. By reinstating the likes of Kevin Prince Boateng, Paul Stalteri, Ricardo Rocha, Hossam Ghaly and Adel Taarabt he immediately increased his choice of options and more importantly may have opened the first team door to one of the most talented players at the club. If there is any manager that can rescue a player’s career then it’s Harry Redknapp and in the case of French starlet Adel Taarabt we may finally get a chance to see the talented youngster shine in a white shirt.

Manchester United’s Alex Ferguson won the Premier League Manager of the Year Award but should it have gone to O’Neill, Moyes or Redknapp?

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Sir Alex Ferguson won the League Manager’s Association Manager of the Year award this season which meant various other contenders were overlooked. Fair enough, Fergie’s team won the title but they were already reigning champions and he spent millions on improving an already excellent squad so perhaps manager’s who drastically improved their sides were more deserving.

Kevin Keegan may be flavour of the month on Tyneside again after leading Newcastle to 3 successive League wins but this weekend he’ll come face to face with the manager who was Mike Ashley’s first choice for the Toon managerial position. Is Redknapp the Right Man for the Toon?

Friday, January 11th, 2008

So Harry Redknapp is the latest Toon target for what has become the poisoned chalice of the Premier League, the Newcastle United manager’s job. After so many recent failures would wheeling, dealing Harry be the right man for a job that arguably brings with it more pressure and expectation than any other Premier League club?

SUNDERLAND v PORTSMOUTH - POMPEY KEANE ON YET ANOTHER AWAY WIN?

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

Sunderland remain the only club in the bottom 6 who have kept faith in their manager this season. Whilst 8 of the 20 Premier League clubs have sacked their managers, Roy Keane’s name has not been linked with the chop at all. The Black Cats have hardly been impressive since rejoining the top flight and find themselves in the bottom 3 despite spending £32million on new recruits so why is Roy exempt from the threat of the sack? One realistic conclusion is that the powers that be at the club are scared witless of the volatile Irishman or alternatively they believe in their man and don’t want to go down the same route as their local black and white striped neighbours.
