Chelsea Performance vs Aston Villa ‘Scary’ for Manchester United, Liverpool & Arsenal Says Former Republic of Ireland Star

Football Pools Pundit Tony Cascarino has suggested that Chelsea’s performance in their 2-0 home win over Aston Villa was ‘scary’ for title challengers Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool. The fact the Blues beat a strong Aston Villa side so comfortably despite missing some integral member of the squad illustrates that the Chelsea squad is strong enough to cope whereas their rivals may have struggled without a similar number of first teamers.Cascarino had this to say, “When you are talking of missing players you have to stand in awe of Chelsea at the moment. At the weekend they were without the likes of Deco, Alex, Drogba, Essien and Carvalho but still comfortably beat one of the best sides in the Premier League.”

I must start by congratulating Tottenham fan Tony Morris from Harrow for his £100K jackpot win on Premier 10 last week. This was quite a feat when you consider some of the results including Bolton and Middlesbrough winning away, so well done to you. As Tony is a Tottenham fan, I’m sure it was hard for him to back Hull to win at White Hart Lane but I’m sure the cash will cheer him up after Spurs dismal start to the season.

Reports suggest Chelsea are aiming to sign Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano in January as Luiz Felipe Scolari aims to add another forward to his squad. The Brazilian star only recently signed a new 3-year deal with his Spanish club so won’t come cheap but as we have learnt money talks and the Blues are not taking no for an answer.

Sercan Yildirim: Turkish Wonderkid Targeted by Manchester United

Manchester United have reportedly made a move for an 18-year old Turkish starlet currently lighting up his homeland. Sercan Yildirim currently plays for Bursaspor in the Turkish top division and has started the season on fire which has attracted the interest of a number of clubs including the current English champions.

Was Wayne Rooney Right to Write Off Liverpool Title Challenge?

Prior to Liverpool’s 2-0 Merseyside Derby win over Everton at Goodison, Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney had all but written off any chance of a Reds title challenge.
The England striker was quoted in the Sun as saying, “Third will be an improvement for them (Liverpool)”.He also added, “But I still think it will be ourselves, Chelsea and Arsenal.”

Manchester United v Bolton: Red Devils Return to Winning Ways?

Manchester United will be looking forward to getting back to winning ways in the Premier League and their recent record at Old Trafford against Bolton suggests they will. After all, the Red Devils have won the last five home encounters against the Trotters and scored 4 goals in three of those clashes.

Former Chelsea Star Claims Scolari Made a Mistake Not Using Drogba From Start Against Manchester United

Chelsea may have missed their new playmaking talisman Deco against Manchester United at the weekend after he injured himself in the pre-match warm up. However, former Blues star Tony Cascarino was more concerned with the fact that Didier Drogba was kept on the bench for this crunch game.
