Blackburn are in Trouble as the Best Manager They Can Get is Allowed to Leave

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

What are Blackburn Rovers thinking? The club has given Mark Hughes permission to talk to Manchester City, accepting it’s time for Hughes to move on to bigger and better things. Blackburn fans, you must be gutted. Your club has basically conceded that Man City is a better club. So I’m asking - Where’s your self belief?

Tottenham Transfers Will Come at the Cost of the Fans as They Try to Compete with Arsenal, Chelsea and Co

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

It seems that Tottenham are interested in any players linked with a potential summer move at the minute - whether they are out of their league or not! But it seems these high expectations are going to come at the expense of their already all too loyal fans after the club confirms a 10.7% ticket price rise. Is it about time Tottenham stop pretending to be one of the big boys and start living within their own means?

Liverpool, Wigan, Arsenal and Chelsea finally pick up some silverware

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

We’ve all enjoyed yet another exciting top flight season, well perhaps not all of us (Derby, Birmingham and Reading fans). But the rest of us have knocked back a Premier League cocktail of excitement, thrills, skills, goals, sulks, celebrations, foreign owners, moaning and outrageous refereeing decisions…ahhhh tastes good!

Premier 10 Minute by Minute Review - 11 May

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Congratulations to Manchester United who lifted their 10th Premier League trophy on Sunday courtesy of goals from that boy Ronaldo and Red Devil’s Veteran Ryan Giggs. And congratulations to Fulham as well who probably feel like they’ve won the league following their perfect rendition of The Great Escape. But hearts go out to Reading and Birmingham who, despite scoring 8 goals between them, still found themselves relegated.

Fulham: A Season Review - The Perfect Rendition of the Great Escape

Monday, May 12th, 2008

The guts and determination Fulham have shown in the dying weeks of the season is highly creditable. An important result against Birmingham, an incredible comeback against Manchester City and, of course, that saving goal from Danny Murphy yesterday all playing crucial parts in Fulham’s survival. So if they could turn in on when the pressure was on why was the cottage so close to falling down in the first place?

Are Liverpool Forever on the Verge of Greatness?

Friday, May 9th, 2008

I got a fair bit of stick the other day when I described Liverpool’s season as being ‘lacklustre even in their precious Champions League.’ On reflection I can see why such comments were jumped on but when you take a close, unbiased look at Liverpool, it really has been another (not that) close but no cigar season for the Reds.

Wigan v Manchester United: Bruce to Upset Old Manager Fergie?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

One win and Manchester United will claim their tenth Premier League title (unless Chelsea get a cricket score against Bolton!). The odds look good. United have never dropped a point against Wigan in their history. That’s right, not a single point. Job’s a good ‘un then, right? Oh I do hope that doesn’t jinx them!

West Ham v Aston Villa: The Hammers Destroy Villa’s Hopes for Fifth?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Even with Martin O’Neill’s words of warning to Everton and David Moyes, there is no denying Villa had a very big slip up right at the wrong time last weekend. Not only did they lose touch with the Toffees, they also lost their goal difference advantage. On the plus side, they now know exactly what they have to do here - produce nothing short of a win.

Tottenham v Liverpool: Reds to Rule Supreme Over Spurs Once More?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

There was a time when we’d be shocked that these two clubs have only won one trophy between them this season. Alas that is the case with Tottenham likely to finish outside the top 10 for the first time in four years and Liverpool proving lacklustre even in their precious Champions League. So what’s going to spur them on in this final game?
