Bolton, Birmingham, Reading or Fulham – Relegation Beckons But For Which Two

The end of the season is nigh and what’s great is competition is still rife in all areas of the league. So with this in mind from now until D-Day, Judgement Day, Silverware Sunday - or whatever appropriately titled pun Sky Sports creatively(!) come up with - I am sticking my neck on the line (after looking at the stats mind) and predicting who’ll go down, who’ll lift the trophy and who’ll nap fifth place. Today - it’s the R word.

The Pools Poll: Birmingham, Bolton or some other poor soul - who’ll be relegated?

While Bolton fans rejoice, Birmingham followers start to sweat. A great win for the Trotters away to Middlesbrough on Saturday sees them move out of the bottom 3 to be replaced by Birmingham after a nightmare derby day defeat. And with Reading, Boro, Wigan and Sunderland still not 100% sure of safety, we’re asking…..

Relegated Rams Prove the Premier League is no Place for Play-off Winners

Derby County were relegated last weekend after a dismal season in the top flight, they’ve recorded just 1 win and 8 draws from 32 games. Despite spending over £15million on new recruits in both the Summer and January transfer windows the rock bottom Rams have looked hopelessly out of their depth in the star-studded Premier League.

Potential for Shocks as the Battle for Premier League Survival Heats Up!

The battle for the Premier League title has become a 3-horse race as Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea fight it out but it’s the bottom of the table where an exciting battle for survival is really heating up. With just 13 games to go, the importance of points to the clubs on the brink of relegation intensifies and with it the potential for shock results. Something Premier 10 players need to be aware of. We all recall West Brom’s dramatic escape in 2004/05, bottom at Xmas but shock results such as draws at Old Trafford and White Hart Lane led to their survival. We can all recall the happy Hammers winning at Manchester United on the final day last season to ensure their Premier League status despite playing more like hapless Hammers for most of the season.
