A lot has been written about the treatment of Ashley Cole by the England fans at Wembley last weekend. For me, the booing that greeted his every touch after his mistake against Kazakhstan was not due to the error but more to do with the perception of Ashley Cole from the British public.

Macedonia v Scotland: Scots to Launch World Cup Campaign with a Win?

Scotland travel to Macedonia to kick-off their World Cup qualifying campaign after narrowly missing out on the Euro 2008 finals. George Burley will be looking to take all 3 points from this match but Macedonia are no pushovers, particularly at home.

What a week we’ve had in terms of transfer stories, once again deadline day threw up some exciting and surprising deals and none more than the incredible turnaround at Manchester City with their takeover. It’s obviously great news for Man City as the only way you can compete at the highest level is by having money and they now have bundles of it. Now City will go from being mid-table to challenging the top four. After all, everything in the top flight is about money and the signing of Robinho will state their intentions and surely leads to exciting times if you are a City supporter.

Kris Boyd: Rangers Prolific Striker Linked to Hull & Cardiff: But Surely Sunderland, West Brom, Stoke, Bolton, Blackburn & Fulham Should All be Interested!

Rangers striker Kris Boyd may well be surplus to requirements at Ibrox this summer after Walter Smith brought in 3 new strikers to the club in the shape of Kenny Miller, Andrius Velicka and Kyle Lafferty. Despite a prolific record for last season’s Uefa Cup finalists the Scottish hitman has struggled to cement his place in the first team and could now be set to move on. There shouldn’t be a shortage of potential suitors for the Scottish star as his scoring record at every level is superb.

Braveheart’s Bite Back: The Return of the Mac’s!

Rangers produced another superb European display in Lisbon to reach the Uefa Cup semi-finals last week. They overcame the odds once again to win 2-0 in Portugal. This result epitomised the recent upturn in Scottish fortunes both in club and international football. If you look at the improvements made in recent seasons it truly is a remarkable turnaround for the countrymen north of Hadrian’s Wall.
