Tottenham Transfers Will Come at the Cost of the Fans as They Try to Compete with Arsenal, Chelsea and Co
Tuesday, May 27th, 2008
It seems that Tottenham are interested in any players linked with a potential summer move at the minute - whether they are out of their league or not! But it seems these high expectations are going to come at the expense of their already all too loyal fans after the club confirms a 10.7% ticket price rise. Is it about time Tottenham stop pretending to be one of the big boys and start living within their own means?
A statement from Tottenham said, “In order to progress both on and off the pitch, we need to be able to continue to raise our level of investment in the squad and of the club’s operations and facilities.” Fair enough, striving for more should be top of every club’s agenda particular during the summer break.
Progression is a gradual process though and should be kept realistic. For goodness sake, the cheapest season ticket for White Hart Lane is £635 just £30 less than the Premier League champions Manchester United and I think we all know which club’ll give you the better value for money!
Many of you think Spurs already hold themselves in too high esteem; is this planned ticket increase further proof that they remain completely unaware of their limitations? Or, Spurs fans, are you perfectly happy to fork out the extra cost in your quest for Premier League dominance? You tell me…
