Liverpool momentarily saw 4th place following their 3-1 win at the Reebok but it literally was just a matter of hours before their local rivals Everton were back on top. The Yak opened and closed the scoring with a goal from Tiny Tim inbetween. But it was Cahill’s goal celebration that generated most of the speculation.

The yoyo string that is Everton’s Premiership journey has finally snapped. No longer are they the league’s unpredictables; instead they are now a squad with pace, strength and an almost Premier 10 dead cert. Gritty rather than pretty at times, Moyes’ men have simply been getting the job done.
