Tottenham have confirmed they are to build a new 60,000 capacity stadium on land adjacent to White Hart Lane, the clubs home for the past 109 years. This marks the dawning of a new era both on and off the pitch as Tottenham attempt to close the gap on their North London neighbours.

The 2007/08 season was meant to be the year Tottenham finally broke up the usual Champions League quartet of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Instead Spurs are set to end their campaign in mid-table, which has become an all too familiar sight for Spurs fans over the course of Premier League history. However, the Carling Cup triumph and the recent signing of Croatian star Luka Modric shows that within this famous North London club, ambition still burns as bright as ever.

The year doesn’t end in one but Spurs FA Cup glory dreams will be rekindled with the visit of the Royals this weekend. Just 8 days before this match, these 2 sides played out a 10-goal thriller at the Lane and you can expect more goals in this one. Both these sides cannot stop conceding goals and in Tottenham’s case scoring them as well.
