It was not overly surprising that Chelsea starlet Michael Mancienne was called up by Fabio Capello this week despite his lack of first team football at Stamford Bridge. Capello has spoken about the lad in the past so it is obvious he likes the look of the player. I’ve heard a lot about this youngster, I know Mancienne is highly-rated at Chelsea and is regarded as a hot prospect but it’s far too early to see how his career will pan out.

Forest’s last win at Molineux came in the 1994 League Cup; a game in which Stuart Pearce scored twice. Their last league win though dates back to Boxing Day 1980. But with both teams having found winning ways already this season (and both entering into the game on the back of impressive league victories) we’re in for a closer fought, energetic tussle.

This match should guarantee goals as both sides are free scoring but hardly watertight at the back. Wolves are the current top scorers in the division with 6 goals in two matches but also scored 3 goals in their Carling Cup match so averaging 3 goals a game. However, they’ve also conceded 5 goals in those matches.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has openly admitted his Nigerian midfielder Seyi Olofinjana will leave the club this summer with a host of Premier League clubs interested in his services. The 28-year-old midfield star has activated a clause in the four-year contract which allows him to be sold to a Premier League club if Wolves failed to gain promotion. Thus he is expected to be on the move to the top flight.

Once again the destination of the Championship title looks extremely difficult to predict with a number of clubs in with a good shout. There’s the likes of Bristol City, Crystal Palace and Watford who all reached the play-offs last season though the impact of getting so close to promotion could have a negative affect on the players.

Reports in the weekend’s press suggest Liverpool are chasing Tottenham’s talismanic Irishman Robbie Keane this summer. The 27-year-old striker has been at Spurs for close to 6 years and has proven himself to be a huge fans favourite. Whereas his strike partner Dimitar Berbatov has been linked away from the club for the past season, this speculation over Keane’s future is a new development and one you’d expect the club not to welcome. After all, of these two forwards I would wager the majority of Spurs fans would prefer to keep their club Vice-Captain rather than the sulky, whinging Bulgarian.

Wolves won 3-2 at Ninian Park back in October but don’t expect Wolves to devour the Bluebirds again. This is the first FA Cup encounter between these two sides in 87 years and Cardiff are aiming to reach the 6th round for first time since they won the cup in 1927. The Welsh side became the only side from outside England to ever win the prestigious trophy.
