Both teams to score this weekend
We’ve picked five fixtures that are hot and five that are not when it comes to both teams scoring in our Goal Rush competition this weekend. Add them to your selections or rule them out before playing for a potential £1,000,000 top prize.
1 - Everton v Crystal Palace
James McArthur scored within the first minute and Leighton Baines equalised with a penalty 5 minutes later when the two sides drew 2-2 in the reverse fixture.
Both teams have scored in Everton’s last three league matches, they drew 1-1 with West Brom and beat Leicester 2-1 in their last two at Goodison Park, before losing 5-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates last weekend.
Both teams have scored in Crystal Palace’s last three league matches, they were beaten 4-1 by Arsenal before 1-1 draws with both West Ham and Newcastle.
2 - Man City v Leicester
The two sides met for a League Cup quarter-final in December and drew 1-1 before Man City won on penalties.
Four of Man City’s last five league matches had goals from both sides, including their 1-1 draw with Burnley last Saturday.
Leicester have scored in all but three of their thirteen league away games this season. They lost 2-1 to Everton in their last league away match and drew 1-1 hosting Swansea last weekend.
23 - Scunthorpe v Rotherham United
No team have scored more goals faster than Scunthorpe in League One this season, they’ve netted ten times within the first fifteen minutes of their league matches.
Nine of Scunthorpe’s last ten league matches had both teams score. They won 3-2 visiting Fleetwood last Saturday.
Rotherham have also been quick off the mark scoring eight times within the first fifteen minutes of their league games. Both teams have scored in six of their last ten league matches.
24 - Shrewsbury v Plymouth Argyle
They had a 1-1 draw when they met for the reverse fixture in mid-October.
Four of Shrewsbury’s last six league games featured both team scoring, including their 2-1 victory at Bristol Rovers last weekend.
Plymouth’s last three league games on the road had goals at both ends, they drew 2-2 with Blackpool and 1-1 with Doncaster before a 2-1 win over Oldham.
25 - Southend v Wigan A
Wigan won 3-0 hosting Southend in the reverse fixture this term.
Southend have only failed to score in three of their last fifteen league matches and won 3-2 over Scunthorpe in their last home game.
Wigan have only failed to find the net in one of their thirteen league away games this season and won 3-1 over Plymouth in their last trip.
8 - Bristol City v Sunderland
Bristol City won 2-1 visiting Sunderland for the reverse fixture back in October.
Bristol City have struggled for goals this year failing to score in five of their eight matches in 2018.
Sunderland have also failed to score in five of their last eight matches, including a 2-0 defeat hosting Ipswich last weekend.
11 - Middlesbrough v Reading
Only one of their last nine meetings featured both teams scoring, Middlesbrough won 2-0 in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
Middlesbrough have failed to score in their last two league matches and failed to score in their last three league games at home.
Reading have drawn a blank in six of their last ten league games, including a 2-0 loss to Millwall last Saturday.
12 - Nottingham Forest v Hull
A FA Cup match between the teams last month finished 2-1 to Hull, with Forest scoring their consolation two minutes from time.
Nottingham Forest have failed to get a goal in six of their last seven league games, including a 3-0 loss to Preston and a 2-0 loss to Fulham in the most recent.
Hull have found the net just three times in their last nine league matches.
13 - Wolves v QPR
Wolves have the best defensive record in the Championship this season, leaking just 22 goals and only 7 of them in the first-half.
Wolves have kept clean sheets in four of their last five league matches, including a 3-0 win hosting Sheffield United last weekend.
QPR have failed to score in seven of their fifteen league away games this season, including their last trip which ended in a 2-0 defeat at Bristol City.
34 - Newport County v Forest Green
They met in the League Trophy competition in August and Forest Green won 2-0 at home. Newport won 4-0 visiting Forest Green in League Two in October.
Newport have lost their last two matches 3-1 to Lincoln and 2-0 to Colchester last weekend.
Forest Green have failed to score in their last three league games on the road, losing 2-0 to Exeter in the most recent.
