We’ve picked five fixtures that are hot and five that are not when it comes to both teams scoring

Huddersfield should find the net when they host Manchester City in the FA Cup, plus there are clashes at the top of League One that should produce goals when Bradford take on Bolton and Sheffield Utd play Scunthorpe

Who’s hot:

3 – Huddersfield V Man City

Huddersfield have scored 19 goals in the first half of matches this season and conceded 19.  Man City have scored 14 goals within the first 30 minutes of games and conceded 9.

Huddersfield have won their last six games in a row, both teams scored in the last four.

Man City have netted 9 goals from their last three away matches.

12 – Nottingham Forest V Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 when they met in the reverse fixture in September.

Nottingham Forest have scored 5 goals from their last three league matches and conceded 9.

Sheffield Wednesday have only failed to score in two of their sixteen league away matches this season.

14 – Bradford V Bolton

The last time Bradford hosted Bolton was a friendly in 2011 which Bolton won 4-1.  Bolton have scored 11 goals within the first 15 minutes of league games this season.

Both teams have scored in Bradford’s last five league matches.  They drew 2-2 with Gillingham in their last league home game.

Both teams have scored in seven of Bolton’s last eight league games.  They drew their last two on the road 2-2 with Coventry and 1-1 with MK Dons.

20 – Sheffield Utd V Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe and Sheffield Utd drew the reverse fixture 2-2 back in September.  Both teams have scored 6 goals within the first 15 minutes of their league games this season.

Sheffield have only failed to score in one of their last six league games at home.  They won the most recent 4-0 over AFC Wimbledon.

Both teams have scored in Scunthorpe’s last three league games on the road.  They were beaten 3-1 by Southend in the most recent.

31 – Doncaster V Luton

Luton had a 3-1 win when they hosted Doncaster back in September.

Doncaster have scored 18 goals within the first 30 minutes of matches this season.  They are unbeaten at home this season and have scored 7 in their last three on home soil.

Luton have only failed to score in four of their fifteen league away matches this season.  They drew their last two on the road 1-1 with Wycombe and Grimsby.

 

Who’s not:

1 – Blackburn V Man Utd

Man Utd have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four visits to Blackburn.  The last was a 2-0 win in 2012.

Blackburn have scored just 3 goals in the first 15 minutes of league matches this season.  They’ve kept a clean sheet in three of their last five at home.

Man Utd are unbeaten in four matches without conceding a goal.  They’ve scored just twice within the first 15 minutes of matches this season.

6 – Wolves V Chelsea

Seven of their last nine meetings have seen only one team score.  Chelsea have won eight of those encounters, Wolves have won one.

Wolves have just lost back to back matches against Wigan and Newcastle and failed to score.

Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in four of their last six on the road.

7 – Barnsley v Brighton

Four of their last nine encounters featured only one team scoring and two were goalless.  Brighton won the reverse fixture 2-0 this season.

Barnsley have failed to score in two of their last three matches and drew 0-0 with Preston in their last league home game.

34 of Brighton’s 52 league goals this season came in the second half.

8 – Birmingham V QPR

Nine of the last fifteen meetings between Birmingham and QPR had only one team score and two were goalless.

Birmingham have failed to score in four of their last seven league matches.  They had a 1-0 win over Fulham in their last league home match.

QPR have scored only 10 goals in the first half of league matches this season, the fewest in the Championship.

23 – Swindon V Oldham

Swindon’s first win over Oldham in eight league encounters was a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture this season.

Swindon have lost their five league games in a row, scoring just 2 goals.  They’ve scored just 10 goals in the first half of matches this season.

Oldham have lost four of their last five league away matches and failed to find the net.
