Goal Rush: 22nd – 23rd April

We’ve picked five fixtures that are hot and five that are not when it comes to both teams scoring

The Scottish Cup and FA Cup semi-finals should provide plenty of goals, while a Bolton side who have come off the boil could draw a blank at low scoring Port Vale.

Who’s Hot:

1 - Arsenal v Man City

Both teams have scored in their last five encounters and three of the games contained four or more goals.

Arsenal have kept one clean sheet in their last five matches, they beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in their latest.

Both teams have scored in five of Man City’s last six matches.  They’ve scored sixteen league goals within the first thirty minutes of matches this season and conceded ten.

2 - Chelsea v Tottenham

Nine of the last fifteen meetings between these two saw both teams score.

Both teams have found the net in six of Chelsea’s last eight matches.  They were beaten 2-0 by Man Utd in their most recent match.

Tottenham have scored fifteen goals from just their last five matches.

3 - Celtic v Rangers

Four of their last five encounters had both teams score including a 1-1 draw at Celtic last month.

Celtic have scored thirteen goals from their last five matches and conceded five.  They drew 2-2 with Ross County in their last match.

Both teams have scored in nine of Rangers’ last fifteen games.  They had a 2-0 win over Partick Thistle in their most recent.

14 - Huddersfield v Fulham

When they met last season they had two draws of 1-1 and Fulham had a 5-0 win over Huddersfield in the reverse fixture this term.

Huddersfield have kept just two clean sheets in their last ten league matches.  They won their last home game 3-2 over Preston.

Fulham have won their last three league matches all at 3-1 against Ipswich, Norwich and Aston Villa.

33 - Colchester v Plymouth

Both teams have scored in the last five league meetings between Colchester and Plymouth.  Plymouth won the reverse fixture 2-1 earlier this season.

Colchester are unbeaten in their last four league home matches, winning three, drawing one and scoring nine goals.

Plymouth have scored nine goals in just their last three league games but conceded a goal in each game.

Who’s Not:

5 - Burnley v Man Utd

Burnley and Man Utd had a goalless draw when they met for the reverse fixture at Old Trafford in October.

Burnley have won four of their last seven league home matches at 1-0, including their most recent against Stoke.

Man Utd have conceded just one goal in their last four league matches, in their 1-1 draw with Everton over a fortnight ago.

11 - Brentford v QPR

Four of their last five league encounters had just one side score, including the reverse fixture this season which Brentford won 2-0.

Brentford have won and kept a clean sheet in their last three league matches at home.

QPR have lost their last five league matches and failed to score in three of their last four on the road.

17 - Sheff Wed v Derby

They had a goalless draw in this fixture last season and Derby had a 2-0 win in the reverse this term.

Sheffield Wednesday are on four straight league wins in which they’ve scored seven goals and conceded two.

Derby have failed to find the net in seven of their last ten league away matches.

20 - Bradford City v AFC Wimbledon

Only four of Wimbledon’s last fifteen league away matches had both teams score. Bradford have won three of their last four home games at 1-0.

Bradford were beaten 3-0 visiting Sheffield Wednesday in the most recent league game.

Thirty of Wimbledon’s fifty-two league goals this season have come in the second-half.

29 - Port Vale v Bolton

Port Vale have scored just two goals within the first fifteen minutes of their league matches this season.  Bolton have won their last seven meetings with Port Vale.

Port Vale have lost their last four league matches and failed to find the net in the process.

Bolton are winless in three league matches, losing 1-0 to both Scunthorpe and Oldham before drawing 0-0 with Bury in their most recent.
