We’ve picked five of the hottest and five perhaps best avoided when it comes to both teams finding the net

Top teams Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus could be keeping clean sheets in their respective matches this Sunday, but there are plenty of fixtures across the rest of Europe where both teams look likely to score.

Who’s Hot:

7 - Man Utd v Crystal Palace

Man Utd beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in extra time in the FA Cup this season and 2-1 in their league meeting at Selhurst Park.

Both teams have scored in over 60% of Man Utd’s league home games this season.  They drew their last league home game 1-1 with Swansea.

Both teams have scored in three of Crystal Palace’s last four away games.  The Eagles won 4-0 hosting Hull in their most recent match.

18 - Empoli v Atalanta

Three of their last six meetings featured both teams scoring, including the reverse fixture this season which Atalanta won 2-1 back in December.

Both teams have scored six of Empoli’s last seven league home games.  They beat Bologna 3-1 in their last match on home soil.

Nine of Atalanta’s last eleven league games on the road had both teams score.  Atalanta have drawn their last three league games on the spin 2-2 with Juventus, 1-1 with Udinese and 1-1 with AC Milan.

19 - Genoa v Torino

Six of their last seven meetings had both teams score, including Genoa’s 3-2 win the last time they played host.

Genoa’s last three league home games have been a 2-2 draw with Lazio, a 2-1 defeat from Chievo and a 1-0 win over Inter Milan.

Over 77% of Torino’s league matches this season featured both teams scoring.  They scored but conceded in their last seven on the road.

22 - Sassuolo v Cagliari

Five of their last six clashes had both teams find the net.  Cagliari won the reverse fixture this term 4-3.

Sassuolo are unbeaten in their last six league games, winning three and drawing three.  Both teams scored in all six matches.

Eight of Cagliari’s last twelve league games had both teams score.  They beat Empoli 3-2 in their most recent.

24 - Bochum v St Pauli

Eight of the last eleven meetings between Bochum and St Pauli saw both sides score.  They drew the reverse fixture 1-1 this season.

Bochum’s last three league games have been a 4-2 win over Dresden, a 1-1 draw with Arminia Bielefeld and a 2-1 win over Munich 1860.

St Pauli won 3-1 against Dusseldorf and 2-1 against Kaiserslautern in their last two away games in Germany’s Bundesliga 2.

 

Who’s Not:

3 - Chelsea v Sunderland

Chelsea beat Sunderland 1-0 in the reverse fixture this season. Sunderland have scored just one goal within the first 15 minutes of their league matches this season.

Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four league games.  They’ve leaked just sixteen goals at Stamford Bridge this season.

Sunderland have failed to score in eight of their last ten league matches.  They lost 2-0 visiting Arsenal on Tuesday night.

4 - Hull v Tottenham

Tottenham have kept a clean sheet in five of their last ten encounters with Hull, including a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture this season.

Hull have lost their last two league matches 2-0 to Sunderland and 4-0 to Crystal Palace.  Only eleven of their thirty-six league goals came in the first half of matches this season.

Tottenham have kept a clean sheet in five of their last eight league games.

6 - Liverpool v Middlesbrough

Eleven of the last twenty-five meetings between Liverpool and Middlesbrough had just one side score and four matches finished 0-0.  Liverpool won the reverse this season 3-0.

Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five league matches.  They had a goalless draw with Southampton in their last match at Anfield.

Middlesbrough have failed to score in eleven of their eighteen league away matches this season.  They lost 4-0 to Bournemouth and 3-0 to Chelsea in their last two trips.

12 - Barcelona v Eibar

Barcelona have won their last five meetings with Eibar keeping a clean sheet in four of them.  They smashed Eibar 4-0 in the two most recent clashes.

Barcelona have leaked just fifteen goals from their eighteen league home games this season.  Only Atletico Madrid have let in fewer in the La Liga this term on home turf.

Eibar have failed to score in their last three league away games, losing the most recent 1-0 to Atletico Madrid.

20 - Juventus v Crotone

Juventus have won their last three encounters with Crotone 3-0, 5-0 and 2-0 in the reverse fixture this season.

Juventus are unbeaten at home in Serie A this season, winning seventeen and drawing one.  They’ve scored forty-five league goals on their own patch and leaked just nine.

Crotone have failed to score in five of their last ten league games on the road.  They won 1-0 over rock-bottom Pescara in the last trip.
