Goal Rush: 9th – 10th June
It’s the last chance for some practice before the World Cup in Russia and after beating Germany last weekend, Austria could have a goal in them when they host Brazil. Spain are 19 games unbeaten but have been lacking clean sheets and could concede against Tunisia. We’ve picked five matches where both teams could score and five where goals could be scarce in our Goal Rush competition this weekend.
1 - Austria v Brazil
David Luiz and Roberto Firmino got the goals for Brazil when they beat Austria 2-1 in a friendly in 2014.
Austria have scored in each of their last eight matches and came from behind to beat Germany 2-1 last weekend.
Neymar and Roberto Firmino scored the goals in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Croatia last Sunday.
5 - France v USA
These two haven’t met since France beat USA 1-0 in a friendly in 2011.
Five of France’s last seven matches had both teams score, including their 3-1 win against Italy last weekend.
USA had a 3-0 win in a friendly with Bolivia at the end of last month but lost 2-1 in a clash with the Republic of Ireland last Saturday.
9 - Tunisia v Spain
In their last encounter Spain beat Tunisia 3-1 in a group match in the World Cup in 2006.
Five of Tunisia’s last eight matches featured both teams scoring, they drew 2-2 with both Portugal and Turkey in the latest.
Spain’s last four matches had goals from both sides, they were held to a 1-1 draw with Switzerland last Sunday.
11 - Kristiansund BK v Molde
They’ve met ten times since the beginning of 2014 and six of those games had both teams score.
Kristiansund’s last three matches in the Norwegian Eliteserien have been a 3-1 defeat to Ranheim, a 4-0 win over Stromsgodset and a 2-1 over Odd Grenland.
Molde were beaten 3-1 visiting Ranheim in their last league away game, but won 3-1 themselves hosting Start in their last match.
35 - Vancouver Whitecaps v Orlando City
Their last two meetings had both teams score, they drew 2-2 in 2016 and Vancouver had a 2-1 win last year.
Vancouver’s last five league matches finished in four draws of 2-2, 2-2, 2-2 and 3-3 before a 2-1 win over Colorado Rapids.
Ten of Orlando’s thirteen league matches this season had goals at both ends.
3 - Estonia v Morocco
Ahead of Morocco’s World Cup campaign this final warm-up match in their first ever meeting with Estonia.
Estonia have failed to score in three of their last four matches, they were beaten 1-0 by Latvia in a Baltic Cup match last Saturday.
Morocco have only leaked five goals in their last fifteen matches, they drew 0-0 with Ukraine and beat Slovakia 2-1 in their last two friendlies.
8 - Sweden v Peru
Both teams will feature in the World Cup in Russia and this final warm-up match will be their first ever meeting.
Sweden have drawn a blank in their last two matches losing 1-0 to Romania in March and drawing 0-0 with Denmark last weekend.
Peru have only conceded two goals in their last eight matches, keeping six clean sheets including a 2-0 win over Scotland and a 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia in their last two.
14 - Sandefjord v Haugesund
Both teams had a 2-0 home win when they met in the Norwegian Eliteserien last season.
Sandefjord have had a terrible season so far and have lost their last seven league matches, failing to score in the last six.
Haugesund have won with a score of 1-0 in three of their last four visits to Sandefjord.
16 - Start v Stromsgodset
These two teams last met in 2016 where they drew 2-2 at Start and 1-1 at Stromsgodset.
Start are the lowest scoring team in the Norwegian top-flight this season with nine goals in twelve games. They’ve scored only two goals in their last six matches.
Goals have been a problem for Stromsgodset on the road, they’ve blanked in three of their last four league outings.
30 - Houston Dynamo v Colorado Rapids
Colorado scored in the 93rd minute to beat Houston Dynamo 1-0 in this fixture in September last year.
Houston were beaten 1-0 visiting Montreal Impact last weekend.
Colorado have lost their last seven league matches and failed to score in the last three on the road.
