Soccer 6: Pool 2 - September 6th

We have games from the second round of Spain’s Copa del Rey competition in Wednesday’s Soccer 6 Pool 2 coupon

We’ve previewed each match to give you a little extra help in predicting the outcome and winning some cash.

1 – Lorca FC V Cordoba

Lorca FC achieved promotion to the Segunda Division in the play-offs at the end of last season and will have their first clash with fellow second-tier side Cordoba in the second round of Spain’s Copa del Rey competition on Wednesday.  They’ve managed four points from their three league matches this season, but they lost 2-0 away to Huesca at the end of last month.  Cordoba have two defeats and a win from their opening three league games, both losses were at home and we think they can avoid defeat on this trip.  Draw.

2 – Real Oviedo V Numancia

This is another clash between two Segunda Division sides.  Real Oviedo have started this season with a loss, a draw a win in the league.  The win was a 3-0 victory at home against Reus on Sunday.  Numancia have made a slightly better start to their league campaign with seven points from their opening three games.  There hasn’t been much separating these two in their most recent meetings, they have two wins apiece and four draws in their last eight league encounters, both league clashes last season ended in stalemates.  Real Oviedo home win or draw.

3 – Reus V Sp Gijon

Sporting Gijon were relegated from La Liga at the end of last season despite a last-ditch effort to survive which saw them lose just one of their final six matches.  They’ve taken seven points from their first three league games, most recently winning 4-0 away over Gimnastic last Saturday.  They’ll have their first ever meeting with Reus on Wednesday, who have yet to win a game this season and were beaten 3-0 by Real Oviedo on Sunday.  Sp Gijon away win.

4 – Huesca V Valladolid

They finished level on points in the Segunda Division last season, but Huesca got the better of their meetings winning 2-1 on the road and 1-0 at home.  On their home turf they could have the edge again for this Copa del Rey clash, they are unbeaten in their last eleven home games.  Valladolid’s away form let them down last season, they failed to win fifteen of their twenty-one league matches away from home.  Huesca home win or draw.

5 – R Vallecano V Tenerife

Rayo Vallecano have made a good start to season, unbeaten in their first three league matches with a win and two draws.  They finished mid-table in the Segunda Division last season and drew 1-1 when they hosted Tenerife.  The Canary Island team finished fourth and missed out on promotion to La Liga in the play-offs final.  Their away form isn’t great and they were beaten 2-0 visiting Valladolid on Sunday.  Rayo Vallecano home win.

6 – Zaragoza V Granada

After six seasons in the top-flight, Granada were relegated under manager Tony Adams last term, they managed just four wins from their thirty-eight matches.  However, they’ve had a positive pre-season losing just one of their nine friendly matches and have drawn all three league games this term.  Once a top-flight regular, Zaragoza have fallen upon hard times and are currently in their fifth straight season in the second tier.  They drew 1-1 hosting Granada at the end of last month, before winning 2-1 on the road at Cordoba.  We’d back this to be a draw at full-time.  Draw.
