The Flexibility of a Time Out
Customers who may want to take a short break from gambling can do so by taking a Time-Out for a specified period of 24 hours, 7 days or 1 month. If you would like longer than this please let us know.
Once a Time Out has been requested you will not be able to access your account for betting and gaming, although any unsettled bets you may have will be unaffected including any direct debit bets that may be active on your account.

Note that once the Time Out period has ended your account will automatically re-open. If you want to prevent yourself from gambling for a longer period of time and you want this decision to be irreversible you should consider using our Self-Exclusion option.
Footballpools.com provides a self-exclusion facility, which enables customers to close their account for a minimum period of six months. Unless you request self-exclusion any account that is simply ‘closed’ can be re-opened by the customer at any time.
During the period of self-exclusion The Football Pools will do all it can to prevent a new account being opened. You will not receive any promotional materials from us and suggest that if using social media channels you take steps to ensure you don’t receive our news or updates.
To use our self exclusion option please refer to the ‘Responsible Gambling’ tab in your account. You will be asked to choose the period of time you wish to be excluded for.
A customer who has decided to enter a self exclusion agreement will do so immediately without any cooling off period. Please note that self exclusions are irreversible for the duration of the specified time and will include any future bets which are scheduled to be paid via direct debit. An account closed under a self exclusion agreement will remain closed for the agreed period and until the person takes a positive action in order to re-open that account by speaking to an agent.

Please withdraw any unused funds if choosing self exclusion
It is recommended that customers using this option should consider extending their self exclusion to other remote gambling operators they use.
